Prayer Requests

An update from the field in North Africa, whose specific location and names I will leave out for security reasons. Here’s a glimpse into the daily ministry life of long-term missionaries in this region of the world, where missions looks like daily relationships and deep, unceasing prayer.
Ramadan in the Muslim World
Where we live, Islam is an essential part of everyday life and culture. That is even more true during the month of Ramadan, which is the month that Muslims fast from food and water from sunrise to sunset in hopes of drawing near to Allah and gaining His favor.
This year, Ramadan started on March 1st and will end on the 31st. The most important night during Ramadan is called “the Night of Power.” Muslims believe that this is the night Mohammed received the Quran and that their prayers during it carry extra weight. Many people stay up all night praying to make up for the sins of the year. That night is tonight, March 27th.
This year, many believers are gathering at our prayer space until the early morning hours to pray for those in our city who are seeking the heart of God. We are praying that as they seek the Father and atonement for sin, they would find the Son, Jesus. Please join us as we pray continue to pray for these people, that they would come to know their Savior.
A Safe Place to Pray
Living among the unreached has taught us that not everyone has a place to pray and seek the God of the Bible. We have also learned that when His people gather and pray in His name, He moves.
For both of these reasons, we have been working with other leaders in our city to open up a prayer space. This is a safe place where believers intercede for their neighbors and friends, and where His people are unified around prayer, His Word, and His purposes.
Next month, we are joining with other believers to pray in shifts for 50 hours straight and wait in expectation for the Father.
